I knew nothing about football, then someone showed me a film of Petit and I realised how interesting the game could be. He is divine. When I met him I could barely speak, he was so gorgeous. Women will love that show.
Robert Altman’s Nashville is my all-time favorite film because it covers all the bases – it’s original, moving, and has something to say, but also funny and incredibly entertaining.
The other thing is this industry has decided it only has one market. Unlike any other industry in the world, unlike film or books or sports even, this industry has decided it has only one market and that’s 14 year old boys.
As far as film goes, I enjoy all Hollywood films and all Horror films like The Bride of Frankenstein, which also might be my favorite. I like 60’s and 70’s Italian and Spanish Horror films.

There are three rape scenes that I’ve had to act in, and none of them have gotten to film. I don’t think it’s something that should be promoted in any way.
There are actors who spend 20 years working and still don’t achieve what I’ve achieved so quickly. So I think my only course of action is to work as hard as I can, not just for the sake of the film, but also to prove to these people that I do have talent.
Movies are not about the weekend that they’re released, and in the grand scheme of things, that’s probably the most unimportant time of a film’s life.
The film of tomorrow will not be directed by civil servants of the camera, but by artists for whom shooting a film constitutes a wonderful and thrilling adventure.
We’re still working out the details, but I’d be delighted to do the film. The problem at the moment is my busy schedule. Shooting on this film has been extended by a month, but I need to be in the U.S. by Dec. 20.
The difficulty with the present state of affairs is that there is no legislation on the sources of funding for the Polish film industry. There is no legislation concerning filmmaking. And, there is no legislation on television that would be beneficial to filmmaking.
I think we have the same goals in mind. We are not planning on just all of a sudden taking a film and separating. Hopefully one day she can direct me in something, or I will direct her. Or we’ll produce a movie under our company’s name.
Still, the film nearly didn’t happen a number of times. There were great arguments with United Artists about how to reduce the cost because they were nothing if not conscious of the price of the film.
That is a big danger, losing your inspiration. When I work in film and television I try to do each take a little differently. I never want to do the same thing twice, because then you’re not being spontaneous, you’re just recreating something.
But as far as, for I think it will be amazing you know where I find myself years from now because of this film. It’s just amazing, I think everybody’s going to kind of know this film and because of it, me. So I you know it’s crazy.
Ultimately, it has been a struggle- but I was in Minneapolis and Austin a couple of weeks ago, sitting in theaters with complete strangers watching this weird movie that Kirk and I thought up and I was excited to be making film.
All of us have read the stories about young people in Hollywood and all the challenges they have to confront there, and I think that artistically, I really didn’t understand the commercial side of the film business, so I went back to a purely artistic setting.
Even in India the Hindi film industry might be the best known but there are movies made in other regional languages in India, be it Tamil or Bengali. Those experiences too are different from the ones in Bombay.
If you look at the game and everything, it’s not quite like looking at an animated film, because that’s total character. This, this is really movement, but it’s got funny little things if you look for the humor. They’re actually getting to the character.
It’s about not letting the internal enemy, the real enemy, have his way because the more he does the stronger he becomes. The film’s about the devastating results that can manifest from the internal enemy being unbridled and allowed to unleash chaos.
You know, people always think if you start out as a film editor, you shoot less footage. Actually, just the opposite is true. I tend to grab as much coverage as I can because as a former editor I know how important it is to have those few frames.
We had two cameras, so they could turn it on and shoot as much as we wanted. You don’t have to worry about wasting money on film. A lot more takes are possible.
There was an interesting article in Los Angeles Magazine about women directors. A woman director makes one bad independent film and her career is over. Guys tend to get an opportunity to learn from their mistakes.
When a film like Chris Nolan’s Memento cannot get picked up, to me independent film is over. It’s dead.
Film, as far as I’m concerned, is my area of artistic endeavor, so I never think of a movie that gets released as being all done-it’s just when they took it away from you.
This applies to many film jobs, not just editing: half the job is doing the job, and the other half is finding ways to get along with people and tuning yourself in to the delicacy of the situation.
Film scores are often based on short themes, and it helps if you’ve got some way of developing these themes and making them sometimes last 4 minutes and sometimes last 40 seconds. One ends up doing it subconsciously.
Scream was great for what it was. For a horror film, it was intelligent, it was funny, it took a laugh at itself.
When I go to a film, you’re taking it easy and you let things wash over you. That’s what cinema’s all about. You get involved in a world that’s being created in front of you.

In France they spend six months training policemen, then they give them a gun and put them on the streets, and I don’t know that that’s enough. The film’s not against the police – although I think that if someone wants to be a cop there’s got to be a problem.
Console game publishing has become more like theatrical release film-making and it is very hard if you are not one of the major publishers, and even for them it is hard unless they are working with major game brands.
